Purpose: To examine the reflection of the events of the Great Iranian Famine (1917-1919) in the paintings of a lacquer pen case held at the Malek National Museum. he question of this research is that Which events related to the Great Iranian Famine are reflected in the paintings depicted on the lacquer pen case held at the Malek National Museum?
Method and Research Design: This research was conducted using a descriptive-content analysis method based on the reflection approach. The data were collected from library sources, documents, and observation.
Findings and Conclusion: The hidden paintings on the tongue of the lacquer pen case at the Malek National Museum reflect aspects of the famine-stricken society of Iran during the years 1917 to 1919. They can be seen as both a mirror and an echo of the voice of that era's society. The precision with which part of this social event is reflected in the lacquer pen case's paintings is notable. These four small paintings provide a clear image of the social and cultural condition of the people during the Great Famine at the end of the Qajar dynasty and represent a turning point in the social realism art of Qajar-era Iran.
