Abstract

The written documents of the past centuries have always been the focus of contemporary artists as a model and image source. Among these, marriage contracts and deeds are one of the documents that have significant visual aspects and are worthy of research.
Purpose: These documents have been researched in the geographical area of Gilan. This is a descriptive-analytical research and the collection of information is in the form of library and field. The purpose of this article is to find decorative patterns and provide rich resources for visual organization and layout of documents and office papers.
Method and Research Design: The research questions are: 1- What is the quality of the visual structure and layout of Gilan marriage contracts and deeds? In the review of an old document, several points from different angles are captured by the researcher. The literature of the text of the document, legal issues related to the text of the document, seals and signatures in the document, people and men named in the document, economic and social conditions of a specific historical period resulting from the documentation of a document, etc. are among these. In the current research, these documents have been analyzed from the artistic aspect.
Findings and conclusion:  In this research, the author has 1- examined the method of gilding in religious documents in detail and compared and analyzed the samples in the above tables and found that the religious motifs and colors used in the gilding of Gilan contracts in a certain period of time It is different from other parts of the country, and the colors in Gilan are pure and transparent, and its finishing technique is done with brushstrokes and sensuously. 2- The quality of the lines used in these deeds have been analyzed both in the opening, in the Tahmidiyeh, in the main text and in the margins, and it has been found that the quality of calligraphy has a direct relationship with social classes. Also, the quantity of lines and its types in the versions have also been evaluated. 3- He has researched the state of design of seals and signatures and the quantity of variety of lines in these seals and found that many of these seals were made with a creative look and combinations with typography principles. 4- Annotation, which was one of the pillars of the pages of old documents, has been explored and found that according to the general principles of annotation in manuscripts all over Iran, Gilani's cases and examples are sometimes written in reverse, and generally in italics. would be 5- In evaluating the proportions and principles of image organization by studying the existing systems in the art theories of the world, he matched some of these relationships with the existing contracts and found that the radical golden rectangles, the one-third system, the logarithmic spiral and the triangle Golden is observed in most versions.
