Abstract

Purpose: To study and analyze the evolution of the structure, organization and equipment of the police force in the Qajar era.

Method and Research Design: This research was written with a historical and descriptive-analytical method using archival documents and library resources.

Findings and conclusions: The military and police training structures of the Qajar period moved towards modernization after the defeat in the Iran and Russia wars. Elites such as Abbas Mirza, AmirKabir and Mirza Hussain Khan sepehsalar accelerated this process. In this space, paying attention to the modernization of law enforcement institutions and its development also became extremely important because public security and the preservation and protection of people's property, life and honor became one of the priorities of political systems; however, many shortcomings were observed in its implementation. The formation and establishment of orderliness and gendarmerie and paying more attention to modern law enforcement training based on modern and western police structures and established by Swedish, Russian and English officers in Iran.
