Abstract

Purpose: Postal stamps were introduced Iran in the Qajarid era as a sign of modernity. Reza Shah Pahlavi government issued stamps to signal the commencement a modern time. This paper investigates the themes use in the design of postal stamps.
Method and Research Design: A comprehensive collection of postal stamps were used to categorize the themes.
Finding and Conclusion: Politcal events are more frequently makes the themes. Then the change of dressing style of the public from the traditional to the western as a government policy is reflected in the design of postal stamps.
