Abstract

Purpose: Seeks the views of experts about applicability of METS to OAIS for Persian digital records
Method and Research Design: For data collection a questionnaire with 145 items, extracted as METS components, was sent to 30 digital preservation experts in Iran and abroad. The validity of the questionnaire was confirmed by professionals in the field. Cronbach’s test (0/98) and bisection method were applied for reliability measurement.
Findings and Conclusion: Out of 145 items, the respondents considered 63 as important. Most of these items belonged to management, data management, and access. Overall, they found METS suitable for managing digital documents in packages and entities of the open archival information system.
