An Interview with Dr. Mohammad Xansiiri

Abstract

Dr. Mohammad Khansari was bom in Isfahan in 1921. In addition to his old-science instructors in Isfahan, Dr. Khansari had studied under masters such as Ketabi, Homaei, Modares Razavi, Rezazadeh Shafagh, Bahar, Eghbal Ashtiani, Moein, Mahdavi, Siasi, Sedighi, and specially Sheikh Mohammadhosein Fazel Tooni. After receiving a B.A of Philosophy and education, he firstly started to work as a psychology lab manager and after that he taught psychology, Arabic, philosophy and logic in the University of Tehran. At the same time he studied Farsi literature and continued it to PhD. In 1958 he went to France to complete his studies and received his PhD in classical logic with the best degree and after returning to Tehran he started to work as a psychology and education instructor in the University of Tehran. Among his published works the dictionary of logic terms, formal logic, translation of Introduction to Aristotle’s Categories (Porphyry's Isagoge) and also the principles of Arabic Grammar can be mentioned. By the way, In 2006, Dr. Khansari was presented as the chosen figure of Iran’s Persian Academy of Language and Literature.
