Evaluation of the Performance of the Library and Archives Administration of the I.R. Iran Broadcasting Organization Based on the EFQM Excellence Model

Aim: This research aims to evaluate the level of excellence of the Library and Archives Administration of the Islamic Republic of Iran Broadcasting Organization (IRIB) and to determine its weak and strong points according to the criteria of EFQM Excellence Model.
Methodology: This research is descriptive and uses a survey approach. The main means for collecting data is the standard questionnaire of the EFQM model. The research population consists of managers, officials and staff of the Library and Archives Administration of IRIB and the statistical sample is the entire statistical population. From a total of 50 managers, officials and experts in this administration, 40 individuals participated in this research.
Findings: The findings of this research show that the Library and Archives Administration of IRIB, with a point of 295.83, has the lowest level of excellence and is not in any of the levels for the EFQM Excellence Award. The findings indicate that the Society Results criteria has the highest point (56.7 percent) and the Customer Results criteria has the lowest point (16.26 percent). Moreover, there is a meaningful difference between the final results of the Leadership, People, Customer Results, People Results, and Society Results criteria while there is no meaningful difference between the following criteria: Partnerships & Resources, Processes, and Key Results.
Originality/Value: Up to now, there has never been any research carried out to evaluate the function of the Library and Archives Administration as the sponsor of all the archives and libraries of the different provincial channels of IRIB around the country and to study the archive as an institution different from libraries and an organization which includes a combination of these two and their requirements. If we add to the abovementioned issues the importance, position and the impact of the national broadcasting on the majority of the society and add the role of archives and libraries in improving its programs, it seem that this research will have a prominent role in IRIB's excellence and in helping it to reach its goals.
