Abstract

Objective: Investigating the process and manner of electing Sistan representatives in the National Assembly; The impact of non-natives and the absence of representatives in the region on their performance in the parliament; the reaction of the people of Sistan towards the performance of representatives
Method: this research, based on a descriptive-analytical method based on documents and primary sources, aims to investigate the reasons for the non-native nature of Sistan representatives in the National Assembly, the impact of this characteristic on their performance, and the people's reaction to it.
Findings: Due to the lack of political elites in the late Qajar period, the Alam family used centralized politicians to represent Sistan. However, most of these people, despite being prominent and influential figures in the country's macro-politics, did not take action to improve the conditions of the people due to their lack of understanding of the problems of the region and their lack of commitment to the people of Sistan. They ended most of the parliamentary sessions in silence without commenting or presenting any proposals. The continuation of this trend led to popular protests and the formation of political tendencies among the people of Sistan, led by some of the region's Khans who sought to achieve the rights of the people of Sistan through the election of local representatives. However, this process, while creating a competitive atmosphere, led to tension and conflict between the two groups in some elections in this region.
