Abstract

Hajji Mirza Baba Afshar was the first student sent to Europe to study medicine, on Abbas Mirza1* and Qa’em Maqam Farahani’s recommendation. He was educated a! Oxford university in London, besides socializing with the British scientists and politicians. After returning to Iran he was appointed the head-physieian, by Abbas Mirza, to cooperate with the Crown Prince’s British physician. Dne to his proficiency in Engl ish, he also serves as the interpreter and communicator for the European* at Iran’s court.
