Purpose: To examine five accounting sheets in Arabic issued in the early years of the 12th century and held at the Astan Quds Razavi Library & Documentation Center
Methodology and Research Design: Paleographical analysis and symbols decoding was carried out to determine the authenticity if records.
Findings and Conclusions: Examination revealed that what today is known as Siāq (Notation) writing is the same as writing and spelling of Arabic numbers. This collection helps to better understand the process of Siāq writing, the system of bookkeeping, and the gradual evolution of surface signs.
