As soon as Dar-ul-fonoon school was set up, western culture and civilization penetrated in Iran, and modern medicine was felt as a need in Iranian Society. As modem medicine stepped in, the Community was partly changed and hygienic principles of mouth & teeth became important.In Qajar’s era, keeping their own jobs, barbers and public bath-workers, worked as dentist and orthopaedist, and so forth. The article, referring to historical records, discusses the employment and influence of European dentists in Qajar's Courts. The records show that Swedish doctor, Bertrand Batiste Ansgarius Heibnet, namely Mosann-AI-Saltane arrived in Iran from Gilan in Naser- Al-Din Shah’s reign. The doctor stayed in the country for 35 years, and according to documents, he pioneered modern dentistry for the first time in Iran.
