The importance of historical records and documents in revealing the unknown facts about the social and political life of a nation is obvious. Therefore preserving this valuable treasury is absolutely important. Accordingly, one of the important duties of Archive centers is to study and find the best methods of preserving and restoring the archival material. In this article reasons for the destruction of archive collections, the process of restoring records, and the principles of restoring are explained. Furthermore, some departments are introduced and their duties are explained. Today, Microfilms and Archive writers are used for preserving records and they are common in preserving centers of archival material. Therefore, in this article, these tools are introduced and the services of the Microfilms and Digital Records Department and the features of the archive writers are explained. However, this paper elaborates on published archives, and in order not to go astray from the main topic, the microfilms and archive writers are introduced briefly.
